EF Find

We may never find specific files on our hard drives if we rely only on our memory. Windows comes with its own search function, but it fails to meet our demands. When it comes to locating files or other items on the hard drive, EF Find offers much more than Windows. Besides files, it can also find text or HEX sequences and it can look for regular expressions within archives.

EF Find is one of many utilities from EF Software. When installing the application, the setup wizard will prompt you only for a destination, to select one or more languages and to decide what shortcuts to create. The software works on various Windows platforms and it is available in numerous languages.

Compared to the standard Windows search tool, EF Find provides many more features. You can search for files, folders and containing text on entire partitions or in specific folders. It is common knowledge that it takes too long to locate an item on the system's partition, because the Windows folder will be included in the search. You can bring up additional options on the application's interface, which you can use to exclude folders, add filters, enable a case sensitive search and more.

An important feature is the possibility of searching for HEX sequences and regular expressions inside archives. EF Find is compatible with a huge number of archive formats, including popular ones, like Zip, 7-Zip or RAR. Furthermore, the program supports WCX Packer plugins, which makes it compatible with more archive types.

The user interface has a simple design, which allows you to get used to the application's functions in no time. A series of useful options are presented on a toolbar, which can be customized without any difficulties.
